Three fall lectures that will discuss various aspects of the Town of Weymouth’s part in the American Civil War – 1861-1865. On Sept. 5, Dr. Michael Murphy, Weymouth educator will discuss the “Twelfth Ma. Volunteer Regiment and Company H of Weymouth” at the Weymouth High School Library. On Sept. 19 there will be two speakers. Mary Dorey, Weymouth nurse (retired) will speak on the ” Civil War Sanitary Commission” and Chris Hannan, Professor at Mass Maritime Academy will discuss ” Weymouth and the Home Front”. This lecture will be held at the Town Hall Council Chambers. On October 24 James Clarke, former Planning Director, will present a ” History of the Weymouth Civil War Memorial”. This lecture will also be at the Town Hall council Chambers. All lectures will begin at 7:00 PM. These lectures have been prepared by the Weymouth Historical Commission
