Meet the Keeper of Boston Light
Thursday, August 1st from 7pm-8pm (Free Presentation)
The first Light Station (1716) and Fog Signal (1719) established in colonial America was on Little Brewster Island at the entrance to Boston Harbor – the home of Boston Light. Today, the U.S. Coast Guard continues to maintain the light and fog signal as major aids to navigations. A power-point presentation comprising of illustrations and photographs chronicling 303-years of Boston Light history will be provided by Keeper Sally Snowman, Ph.D. She has co-authored two books with her husband, Jay Thomson: “Boston Light – A Historical Perspective” (1999)” and “Boston Light – Arcadia Images of America (2016)”
